Keepin' it Simple With Winter Gardening Tips

There are several things you can do this winter to get ready for spring 2025's garden. And every single one of them falls under category of 'keepin' it simple'!

*Toss your potato peelings, eggshells, coffee/tea grounds, lettuce-gone-limp, and other no or low-processed fruits and veggies onto the soil in your garden.

*Don't have a garden spot...yet? Buy or make a simple compost box  so you can feed the soil come spring.

*Save the seeds from the red/yellow/orange sweet peppers to plant this spring. Be sure to put them on a dry rag or paper towel to air dry in a cool dry place.

*Let a potato sprout 'eyes', put it on a shelf in a cool, dry, and dark shelf (the garage or pantry is good). In late March or early April, cut the potato into small chunks to separate the eyes, and plant them in your garden so you can enjoy fresh new potatoes with your green beans (or by themselves if you prefer).

*Save a couple of paper (not foam) egg cartons to start your seedlings in this spring.

See? Nothing difficult going on here, is there!
